The Society for Photographic Education Midwest Multi-Caucus seeks submissions for the 2nd Midwest SPE Juried Exhibition. The exhibition is intended to highlight the unique environmental and cultural character of the Midwest and will take place at the McNamee Gallery at Saint Louis University, in collaboration with Conflict Resolution, the 2016 SPE Midwest Regional Conference in St. Louis, Missouri. To our delight we have secured four outstanding jurors from the Fine and Performing Art Department at Saint Louis University.

All submissions will be accepted by email only to mwspemulticaucus@gmail.com. Photographers may submit up to five works. Please size all images to 1400 pixels on the longest side with a resolution of 72 dpi. Submit all images through email and include the title, size (print and final frame size required), medium, caucus membership, and date for each of the submissions, and a brief artist statement (max 600 words), in the body of the email message.

All work should have hardware and be ready to hang (i.e., wired). Please no pushpins, rare earth magnets, or otherwise involved installations, unless otherwise agreed upon. Work must be no larger than 30” on the longest side. Please mail works in reusable shipping containers and also ensure that you include a return pre-paid shipping label with a barcode within your artwork package. The exhibition venues will not be responsible for shipping charges. All works will be insured while installed in the gallery. It is the photographer’s responsibility to cover insurance during transit.

Location

The McNamee Gallery is named for Maurice B. McNamee, S.J., 1909-2007, who pioneered the study of Studio Art and Art History at Jesuit universities. The McNamee Gallery, accessible directly from West Pine Mall, is the teaching gallery for Saint Louis University's Studio Art program in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts. The McNamee gallery supports the Studio Art curriculum by exhibiting artwork by students and faculty, as well as visiting artists. Students are involved in the conception, organization, and installation of exhibits, publicity and gallery events.
