The Louisville National Juried Photography Show is held at the Louisville Center for the Arts, an old Victorian, completely renovated, turn of the century (circa 1904), red brick school house. The center offers this venue opportunity to compete, display and sell art work in an elegant gallery setting which retains a touch of historic ambience.

The show dates are held in conjunction with the city’s festival “A Taste of Louisville”. The Taste of Louisville highlights the amazing restaurants in our community and pulls in crowds of over 5,000.

This year's juror is Dona Laurita, will select approximately 100 images for this year's exhibition, with winnings over $7000 in cash and prizes!

Please note that work shown in previous LAA National shows will NOT be accepted.

• Additionally, if your work is selected by the judge for the juried show you may display up to 10 pieces of matted bin work or cards for sale. All sales will be
conducted by the LAA and a 25% commission is charged on all work sold.

Considerations

• ALL Work must be the original work of the photographer and executed in a professional manner.

• Framed size limit is 5 feet on the longest side.

• Work must be suitable for a general audience of all ages, no frontal nudity.
The LAA reserves the right to reject any photograph that is not deemed to be appropriate.

• All work accepted for exhibition must be properly framed, wired and other wise ready to hang. NO SAWTOOTH HANGERS! NO EXPOSED GLASS EDGES! NO CLEATS! Work not properly framed or damaged in shipment will not be hung or judged.

• Participant’s Waiver: Submission of work automatically waives any claim for damage or loss against the Louisville Art Association, including the officers, members, and employees. Submission allows LAA to use images in promotional material, with credit given to the photographer.

Evaluation Criteria

JURORED EXHIBITION

This year's juror is Dona Laurita, a professional photographer for over twenty years, and the director of the Dona Laurita Photography and Fine Art Gallery.

Her images invite the observer to explore ways of seeing; while encouraging the viewer to participate in the essence of the ordinary -- be it the power of a simple gesture, the quality and diversity of light, or a moment in time that may otherwise have been overlooked, in a deep, dramatic and sensitive way.
