JURIED EXHIBITION - "WOMAN"
April 13 - 22, 2018

Studio & Gallery is pleased to announce an opportunity for regional and national artists. We are seeking submissions for this year's Juried Exhibit on the theme "WOMAN", asking artists to explore the interpretations and submit up to three pieces for consideration.

This exhibit is open to all artists working in any traditional or contemporary media. See Eligibility, below, for more information regarding acceptable entries.

AWARDS: Cash prizes will be awarded: $300 Best of Show, $100 Second Place, and $50 People's Choice Award. Best of Show and Second Place winners will be announced at 6:00 pm on April 13, 2018 during the opening reception of the exhibit. People's Choice winner will be announced at the end of the exhibit. In addition, there will be three honorable mentions given. Work of awarded artists will be featured on the Studio & Gallery website from April 15 to May 15, 2018.

CALENDAR:

¥ FRIDAY, March 16, 2018 - Deadline to submit artworks. See Submission Guidelines below.
¥ FRIDAY, March 30, Notification of accepted and non-accepted work.
¥ THURSDAY, April 12, In-person drop off of accepted work to Studio & Gallery, 1027 Main Avenue, Durango, CO, 81301, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
¥ Shipped Work: If you are shipping your work to the gallery, it must be received no later than WEDNESDAY, April 11, 2018 by 5pm. Artist must include adequate packaging material for the repacking and return of unsold artwork, as well as a pre-paid return shipping label. Studio & Gallery is not responsible for the cost or insuring of shipped artwork to and from the gallery. For those shipping work, plexiglass or acrylic must be used in place of glass. Artwork shipped with glass will not be accepted.
¥ FRIDAY, April 13, Opening Reception for exhibit, Studio & Gallery, 5:00 -9:00 pm. Winners announced at 6:00 pm.
¥ MONDAY, April 23, Pick up of unsold work from Studio & Gallery between 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
¥ Unsold artwork which needs to be shipped back will be packaged and sent the week of April 23.

JUROR:
Elizabeth Somers holds a MFA from Mills College in Oakland, CA, and has been exhibiting her sculptures and collages nationally since 1986. She opened Gallery 145 in Durango in 2012, and now resides in Portland, OR.

Fees

¥ Submit applicable entry fee as listed below through Paypal, by using the address artideasprogress@gmail.com or pay with check. You may hand deliver or send check by mail to: Studio & Gallery, 1027 Main Avenue, Durango, CO 81301 ¥ $35 for up to two (2) entries. ¥ $45 for three (3) entries. ¥ $55 for four (4) entries. ¥ No more than 4 entries will be considered. ¥ Submitting an entry fee does not guarantee that artwork will be accepted. Studio & and the juror reserve the right to refuse any piece of artwork for any reason.

Eligibility

Entrants must be at least 18 years of age. Artwork in all media may be entered, except offset or giclee reproductions. All artwork must be ready to hang/display, with all hanging hardware, display equipment, etc., including any detailed display instructions, if applicable. All 2D work must be wired with FRAMING WIRE; No sawtooth or similar hangers will be accepted. Three-dimensional artwork must be ready to install, or otherwise display. Work must fit through a 72"h x 30"w doorway. Artists submitting audio and/or video work must provide a means of displaying their work, i.e. computer, projector, speakers, etc. Work submitted must have been completed within the last two years and cannot have been previously exhibited at Studio & Gallery.

All work must be original in concept and must have been created outside a classroom environment without the assistance of an instructor. Compositions from published material and works considered to be reproductions may be rejected at any time.
ALL SUBMITTED WORK MUST BE FOR SALE.

Requirements

ENTRY CRITERIA AND SUBMISSION PROCESS:
¥ Send your entry by email to: studioandentry@gmail.com, with "Juried Show" in the subject line.
¥ In the body of your email, include: Your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number.
¥ A list of the artworks you are submitting, including title, size, medium, price, and date of completion.
¥ Attach JPEG images only of each piece you are submitting. You may submit up to four artworks for consideration, and may include up to two (2) images per piece. Name image files as follows: Title_Medium_size.jpg.
¥ Images must be no larger than 1 MB in size.
¥ By submitting an entry to this exhibit, the artist warrants and represents that his or her artwork is the artist's original work, and does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity.
