Call for Cyanotypes

The Pearl Conard Art Gallery at The Ohio State University at Mansfield is seeking contemporary artwork utilizing the cyanotype process for display in our space during autumn semester 2024. Our unique gallery space has glass walls that show a panoramic view of OSU Mansfield's 600 acres of woodlands, and the seasons will change throughout the duration of the exhibition. We are particularly interested in camera-less works that use the historic process to explore nature in its many forms, forging a connection with the woodland backdrop outside our windows.

Please send jpegs of works that are available for exhibition September – December 2024, a corresponding image list that includes dimensions and detailed installation requirements, a resume or CV, and a statement about the work to shannon.112@osu.edu by July 1, 2024.

We also welcome workshop proposals that will engage our students and community members with the cyanoype process on our wooded campus, which contains unique forests, pine plantations, streams, vernal pools, and wetlands. If you are interested in leading a workshop, please send a 1-2 page detailed proposal that includes your availability, learning outcomes, and a materials list to shannon.112@osu.edu by July 1, 2024.
