The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, invites visual artists and designers to submit original works that address the portrait. All interpretations and explorations are welcome.

Recognition matters. Throughout art history, the artist's ability to capture not only a likeness but the character, the spirit, if you will, of the subject has defined entire careers. The portrait remains one of art's most enduring and demanding subjects: a negotiation between observation and interpretation, between who the subject is and what the artist sees.


$45 for up to three entries submitted. $5 per each additional entry.


Includes honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.
