US National Parks Photography Exhibition

Miami Country Day School, a prestigious private school in Miami, FL is seeking submissions of large format photographs based specifically on the US National Parks. We are looking for photographs that best represent any or all of the US National parks from east to the west coast and have the visual power to excite and inspire young people and families to want to visit our park system.

The artwork will be exhibited in our new contemporary gallery space from September 1 to mid- October. The school will publicize the show to over a thousand school families, the Miami community and hold an opening reception for which we would want your presence.

May 17, 2015 Deadline for entries
June 1, 2015 Notification of acceptance
August 17 -21, 2015 Delivery of work between these dates only
September 10, 2015 Opening reception for artist(s)
September 7-11 Artist(s) should be available during the week for artist demo/talks
October 9, 2015 Show closes
October 12, 2015 Pickup of hand-delivered work or return shipment of work

Miami, FL - The school is located about 10 minutes north of Miami's Wynwood Arts District.

Eligibility

Participants must be 18 years or older.

Requirements

Please email (subject line "US National Parks") up to 10 JPEG files of your strongest works specifying the National Park it was taken in and the size of the framed work. All images must be in JPEG format, 300ppi, resized so that the longest dimension is 2100 pixels, and labeled with consecutive numbers followed by first and last name and national park (1JohnDoe_NameofNationalPark.jpg). Miami Country Day School will retain the submitted images of accepted artwork and reserves the right to use the images in publications and publicity for the exhibition.

Additionally, please include in the email a short bio, artist statement, artist CV including any awards or shows in which you have participated in, and a link to the website that contains a portfolio of the artist's work.

All accepted work must be framed in a professional manner with hanging wire and behind plexi-glass. Accepted entries may be shipped or hand delivered. All shipped and hand-delivered work must be adequately packed in secure, reusable containers. Please do not use packing peanuts.

The artist is responsible for delivering or shipping the artwork to and from Miami Country Day School. A bar-coded shipping label from UPS / FedEx must be included with all shipped work. The artist is responsible for insuring the artwork while it is in transit. Retain all receipts for reimbursement.

Awards

The artist or artists chosen will be paid an honorarium to be used for shipping the artwork, personal travel to Miami and time spent interacting with students.

Considerations

Miami Country Day School agrees to keep and display the work(s) of art and agrees to return the work(s) of art in the same condition as received, less reasonable wear and tear. Every item must be valued for insurance purposes.

Miami Country Day will not be involved with any sales/pricing of the artwork and any such transactions will occur solely between the buyer and the artist.
