The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, invites visual artists and designers to submit original works that employ, depict, or explore translucency and transparency. Open to all traditional and non-traditional genre and media.

Not all light is reflected or absorbed; light can be transmitted, scattering within and beyond objects or layers to reveal what is on the other side. Transparency and translucency allow light to shine through.

Translucency and transparency refer to both non-opaque materials and concepts surrounding openness and honesty, to baring one's intentions and actions for another's understanding. Transparency opens communication: conveying not just what, but why and how.


$45 for up to three entries submitted. $5 per each additional entry.


Includes honorarium of $50 for each exhibiting artist and Grand Jury Award of $1,000 for one jury-selected work from among the exhibits on view.
