Even the most mundane human activity leaves evidence of its existence. Old shopping lists, a lost stuffed animal left on the swing set, fragments of an old wedding dress, all speak of the passage of time. Larger human activities leave boarded-up storefronts and crumbling infrastructure. No matter the scale, they all leave a nostalgic hint of an irretrievable past and, ultimately, of our mortality.
For this exhibition, we seek images that hint of humans come and gone by the traces left behind.

Location

PhotoPlace Gallery's mission is to support contemporary fine art photography as a means of creative expression and cultural insight. PhotoPlace Gallery sponsors exhibition opportunities through international juried exhibits in Middlebury, Vermont, through its published exhibition catalogs, and on its website.

Fees

$39 for up to 5 images, $6 each additional

Eligibility

Open to all photographers. To encourage international participation, we offer free matting and framing to all exhibitors for the duration of the exhibit.

Awards

$500 Juror's Award, $250 Director's Award.
Jeff Curto will select approximately 35 images for exhibition in the gallery, and 40 for our Online Gallery. All 75 selected images will be promoted on social media, reproduced in the exhibition print catalog, and remain permanently on our website, with links to photographer's URL.
