Bostick & Sullivan is proud to announce our first ever call-for-entry. Our upcoming juried exhibition will feature modern photographers' handmade prints working with historic and alternative photographic printing processes. Digital means are allowed to capture the photograph and negative, but the prints submitted must be handmade. We welcome the chance to see how contemporary photographers work with these processes to convey their artful expressions to the world.

Selected entries will be exhibited at El Museo Cultural (555 Camino de la Familia), in the Railyard Art District, Santa Fe, New Mexico.

There will be an online gallery to showcase all submitted photographs.

Entry fees are non-refundable.

Requirements

Files should be 1200 pixels on the longest dimension and in JPEG format on the highest quality setting. Images should also be saved in sRGB color space.

Label each file as:

Lastname_Firstname_ followed by consecutive numbers.

For example: Smith_Alice_1.jpg, Smith_Alice_2.jpg, etc.

Do not use spaces in the file name and do not use special characters, use only alpha-numeric characters.

Please include the following information for each image in your email submission:

print title

print size

process used to make the image ( platinum/palladium, cyanotype, wetplate collodion, kallitype, etc. ).

price or NFS.

website or social media usernames to be tagged in promotional posts regarding the exhibition

Awards

1st place - $500 gift certificate from Bostick & Sullivan

2nd place – Alt-process kit of your choice from Bostick & Sullivan

3rd place – A signed copy of the 3rd edition of Christopher James book

Up to 5 Honorable Mentions may be awarded.

Considerations

The accepted photographs must be framed with a wire ready for hanging. Include return postage with your package or we can arrange return postage at the expense of the artist. Prints will be repackaged in the box they were sent in. Prints hand delivered to our office can be picked up after the exhibition. We will hold them up to 3 months.

Prints including frames can not exceed 20X24 inches over all.

If your work is accepted your framed photograph must arrive to Bostick & Sullivan (Bostick & Sullivan,
1541 Center Dr., Santa Fe, NM 87507) by April 23, 2019. When shipping your artwork, please be sure to insure your framed photograph for the full value.

Evaluation Criteria

Open to all photographers internationally making historic and alt-process handmade photographs. No digital prints are eligible. You may use a digital negative.

Prints including the frame can not exceed 20X24 inches over all.
