The Hand Magazine is interested in the myriad ways artists use printed and photographic media. Any kind of printed or photographic media or artworks incorporating prints and photographs are welcome.

Location

The Hand Magazine is based in Kansas City and distributed worldwide.

Fees

$15 for a single-issue subscription includes a copy of the magazine whether your work is selected for print or not (more outside the US to accommodate shipping)

Requirements

Single-issue, one-year, two-year, or recurring subscriptions are required.

Considerations

Special consideration is given to hand-printed photographs and prints. We do print some digital work, but we are especialy interested in alternative processes, experimental, mixed media, and unique applications of printmaking and photography.

Evaluation Criteria

We look for unique, experimental, and idiosyncratic work. Criteria such as intentionality, craft, narrative, and innovation are considered.
