The Hand Magazine is looking for all types of photography and printmaking to include in the next issue. Issue 27 will come out in January 2020. We print all types of photographic work, with a particular interest in "The Hand" of the artist. This means primarily alternative & historical processes, but also could include digital work - particularly if the subject matter is contrived, arranged, directed, manipulated, or otherwise created by the artist.

Location

The Hand Magazine is based in Prairie Village, KS.

Fees

$15 for non-subscribers (no fee for subscribers), $20 in Mexico and Canada, $25 outside North America

Eligibility

Everyone is eligible, all over the world.

Requirements

Considerations

We love experimental, idiosyncratic, unique, weird, multi-process, mixed media, performance, installation, sculptural, etc. As long as it includes photographic or print-based processes, we will consider it.

Evaluation Criteria

We consider a wide variety of styles, subject matter, and approaches. We look for craftsmanship, composition, engagement, narrative, creativity, and originality.
