SPE Midwest Region Juried Book Showcase

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity to showcase your book! The 2016 St. Louis Midwest Regional Society of Photographic Education (SPE) Conference planning committee seeks a nation-wide SPE member submissions for a Juried Book Showcase held during our conference “Conflict Resolution” October 6-8th in St. Louis.

Fees

Postage fee only, no submission fee

Eligibility

We are accepting submissions from SPE students, professional & faculty members in good standing.

Requirements

Each book must function like a book (opening up and presenting a sequence or potential sequence of images, words, or ideas).

All submissions must be photography books and must be original works of authorship, entered by the author who holds all rights to the submission.

Enter in multiple categories if applicable and submit as many books as you would like.

All books submitted must represent work published within the 21st century.

Entries must be postmarked by August 25, 2016. Books not chosen for the showcase will be mailed back September 25; unless you wish to donate your book to the MWSPE raffle. The raffle will raise funds for Midwest Region Travel Awards which are given to assist undergraduate, graduate, and adjunct members to travel to national and regional SPE conferences.

Artists may submit more than one book.

Submission/Shipment Logistics:
Along with your book send a one-page cover letter with a biographical note, specify appropriate categories, publication abstract, and indicate if the book is a donation to the raffle.
SASE (return postage), unless given as part of the raffle.

Awards

Cash awards for the following categories:

Grand Prize
Best Self-published- self-published either through (Artifact Uprising/ Blurb website) or through another self-publishing facilitation service.
Best Artist Book
Best in Professional Press- published by any third party publisher.
Best in Student Book
