Self-Published Photobooks for Phoenix Art Museum

INFOCUS, the Photography Support Organization of Phoenix Art Museum, is calling for self-published photography books for a juried exhibition to be presented in the Norton Photography Gallery of Phoenix Art Museum.The purpose of the exhibition is to explore the range of ways that photographers are using newly available commercial technologies to self-publish photobooks in order to express themselves.

Submissions are due at Phoenix Art Museum by the end of the business day, Thursday, July 31, 2014.

Eligibility

We are looking for self-published photography books that employ newly available commercial technologies one where the artist acted as the publisher (worked with a designer, or designed it themselves, used an online service or went to a press).

Books can be any subject including retrospective, project-based, souvenir albums, fictional narrative, exhibition catalogues, poetic, biographical, children's books, or otherwise.

Collaborative or collective books are welcomed.

There is a submission limit of two different titles per artist, please.

A completed submission form printed in hard copy must be included with each title.

No entry or hanging fee will be charged.

Books with writing by one of the jurors are ineligible.

Employees of Phoenix Art Museum and the Center for Creative Photography are ineligible to enter.

Submissions will not be returned. Those selected by the jury will be exhibited at Phoenix Art Museum's Norton Photography Gallery from August 23 to September 28, 2014.
