This exhibition will feature works that go beyond the literal, whether realistic or abstract in their depiction. To quote Ralph Waldo Emerson (Nature, Chapter III: Beauty, 1836.): "A work of art is an abstract or epitome of the world. It is the result or expression of nature, in miniatureNature is a sea of forms radically alike and even unique. A leaf, a sun-beam, a landscape, the ocean, make an analogous impression on the mind."
The jury will select works that evoke a spirit of the spaces and places in the park. How has your experience in the Delaware National Recreation Area or at Peters Valley informed your creativity? What interesting perspective can you provide from your impressions?
