CON/STRUCT: Images and Identity

CON/STRUCT examines photography's dual power to actively build identity and enforce social expectations. Curated by Ashley Moog Bowlsbey and Matthew Clay-Robison, the exhibition explores the word's inherent tension: the "con" of image fabrication versus the rigid "structures" of gender, status, and belonging. Featuring photographs from Ryan Scott Oliver's musical 35mm alongside a juried selection in the main gallery and an uncurated community wall adjacent to the gallery, CON/STRUCT brings together featured artists and public participants to reveal how images shape our boundaries.

*This show will feature 2 levels of participation
1. Framed/Install ready physical artwork in the main gallery space.
2. Digital images for a repeating slideshow projection adjacent to the main gallery space.

- Please specify on the Google Form application which portion of the show you wish to apply.

- Artist will be notified of Acceptance by 10/30/26

- Artwork Drop Off/Delivery: Accepting works between November 6-9th. Artworks must arrive by November 9th to be included in the exhibition. More information on drop-off times and the shipping address will be provided upon acceptance into the exhibition.

- Show Dates: November 13, 2026 - January 30, 2027

- Opening Reception: November 13, 5:00 PM, Gallery Hall, Marketview Arts

Eligibility

All artists over the age of 18, residing within the United States, working with the photography medium in any form.

Requirements

• File format: JPG or JPEG only
• Size: Up to 10MB per file
• Color space: sRGB recommended for both B&W and color
• Please use the following naming convention for files: "LastName_FirstName_ArtworkTitle_Submission#.jpeg"

Artists may submit up to three artworks.
- Multi-panel pieces, grids, diptychs, or triptychs can be submitted as one piece.

Free to submit. Artists pay for shipping of artwork
