Artists and Curators

University of Kentucky School of art and Visual Studies   /   Deadline: 02/01/16

The School of Art and Visual Studies at the University of Kentucky is now accepting exhibition proposals for its newly renovated gallery.

Proposals can be submitted by artists and curators in any media, and both solo and group shows will be considered. Accepted proposals will be scheduled during the 2016-17 academic year, but files may be kept for future consideration. There is NO entry fee.

Requirements

Artists, send the following:
-artist statement
-CV
-Up to 20 images of work
-List of images including title, media, dimensions, date
-If site-specific work is being proposed, please include a project description and renderings of the work in the space. (For images of the gallery, detailed floor plan, and gallery specifications please email Becky Alley, BAG Director, becky.alley@uky.edu)
-Please indicate if you would be willing to be included in a group show with other artists.
-NOTE: the gallery aims to cover most or all of shipping expenses for exhibitions, however funds are limited and cannot be guaranteed until the full year schedule is finalized.

Curators, send the following:
-Curatorial statement describing exhibition
-CV
-artist statements for all participating artists
-CV for all participating artists
-Up to 20 images of work
-List of images including title, media, dimensions, date
-If site-specific work is being proposed, please include a project description and renderings of the work in the space. (For images of the gallery, detailed floor plan, and gallery specifications please email Becky Alley, BAG Director, becky.alley@uky.edu)
-Budget. NOTE: Funds for the gallery are limited. Curators are encouraged to submit a budget at or below $2,000. Full funding cannot be guaranteed in advance, but the gallery aims to cover most or all of exhibition expenses.

Evaluation Criteria

Postmark deadline: February 1, 2016.

Proposals will be accepted either through the mail with CD and hard copy of printed materials or via email (email should be no larger than 10m - ZIP file, Mac compatible, preferred).
