Dr. Carmela Loiacono, Art Historian & Independent Curator / Deadline: 11/27/26
Dr. Carmela Loiacono, Art Historian & Independent Curator, is proud to present the open call for the international art exhibition CREACTION | The 2nd Edition 2026, which will take place in Matera (Italy), from December 12 to 19, 2026 at Casa Cava.
The concept
"Every piece of art is the fruit of human expression and the creativity of the individual artist."
CREACTION 2026 – The 2nd Edition 2026 explores the mind, body, and movement that underpin the creative act of every artist.
The exhibition investigates creativity not as a static given, but as a dynamic action: a necessary encounter—and clash—between the artist's inner universe and external reality. To create is to inhabit a constant state of tension; it is the threshold where pure intuition meets the rigor of technique, where emotion engages with reflection, and where the chaos of the imagination finds its synthesis in form.
Every work of art is the visible trace of this struggle—at once physical and conceptual. It is an action that the artist does not confine within the walls of their studio, but rather extends to the streets, the landscape, the intricacies of society, or the fluid territories of the digital realm.
Through the use of expressive media—color, light, sound, the body, or the spoken word—an inner urgency claims space and transforms into an emotional message, capable of resonating with anyone who pauses to observe.
For this second edition, artists are invited to reflect on the concept of creativity, beginning with the relationship between the external world and their own inner world—an invitation to draw inspiration from a dualism defined by both differences and resonances, capable of generating the action needed to unlock new, possible horizons.
