National Photography Exhibition
Midwest Center for Photography / Deadline: 02/10/22
From classic cars driving on Route 66 to the urban sprawl of mid century homes laid out across the country to house the boomer parents post WWII, we look at the retro aesthetic of this pop culture iconography otherwise knows as Americana. We look at remnants of the visual clues harkening back to this time through photographs of architecture and landscape monumnents to the lives lived in homes and towns sprawled over the land, to the five and dime stores and mom and pop joints. Let's take a look back at what remains from this time that represented purely good authenticity.
