2016 GMA Biennial Juried Exhibition

The Greenville Museum of Art call to artists who are residents of North Carolina.

Fees

$25

Eligibility

No media restrictions. Open to all artists who are residents of North Carolina, 18 years old or older. Work must be original, executed within the past two years, and not previously exhibited at the GMA. Entry in this exhibit establishes an agreement on the part of the artist to all conditions listed in the prospectus and is a contract to exhibit entries selected by the juror. Substitutions for entries sold or otherwise committed before acceptance are not allowed. GMA will retain a 40% commission on any work sold during exhibition.

Requirements

All work must be completely dry, framed, wired, and ready for hanging, or otherwise suitably prepared for exhibition. No saw tooth hangers will be accepted. Orientation or installation instructions and specialized hardware should be included with work. All shipped art work must not exceed UPS/Fed Ex size limitations. Hand-delivered art work must not exceed 8 feet in any direction.

1. All work must remain for the duration of the exhibition February 6-April 24, 2016.
2. The museum reserves the right to photograph works for publicity and other purposes.
3. Payment of the entry fee signifies the artist’s understanding and acceptance of the rules and conditions of the competition.
4. All entrants must include their name, address, city, state, zip code, country, phone, email, title of work, date of work, materials and techniques, dimensions, price.

Awards

A prize fund is guaranteed for the Best in Show, First, Second, and Third places. Award winners will be selected by the juror and announced at the reception on February 6th at 6:00pm.

Considerations

Artwork must be shipped (at the artist’s expense) via UPS, FedEX or USPS in a sturdy reusable container. No COD shipments will be accepted. All accepted work shipped and hand-delivered must be received no later than the January 11, 2016, deadline. Hand-delivered work must be delivered to Greenville during museum hours, Monday-Friday 10 am to 4:30 pm or Saturday-Sunday 1 to 4pm. Accepted artists shipping their work must include prepaid charges for return shipping (USPS Return Postage or prepaid UPS or FedEx shipping label).
