2014 SPE Women's Caucus Video Festival

The Society for Photographic Education (SPE) Women's Film Festival has featured innovative and provocative short documentaries, animation and fiction by women directors since 1995. The 2014 festival will be screened in Baltimore, MD, on Friday and Saturday, March 7 & 8, 2014 at the 2014 SPE National Conference. The Annual SPE conference draws over 1400 Photography, Film, Video and Media professors every year.

free or $15 (late)

Eligibility

Narrative, documentary, animated and experimental shorts under 30 minutes, directed, produced, edited or shot by a woman are eligible. All rights must be cleared.

Requirements

There is no entry fee for DVDs postmarked by August 30, 2013. There is no entry fee for SPE members for DVDs postmarked by Sept. 16, 2013. Late deadline is October 28, 2013. Entries postmarked after Aug. 30 (or Sept. 16 for SPE members) must include a $15 late entry fee; make check payable to Society for Photographic Education. Send preview DVD (playable on a standard DVD player) to:

contact information (name, address, email and telephone number)
short (no more than 3 sentences) film synopsis
short director's bio awards and festival screenings
Accepted filmmakers must provide data files for a compilation DVD. All work will be screened on DVD.

Evaluation Criteria

Aesthetic and artistic quality, clarity of content/message, issues concerning women
