Vahid Valikhani is a lens-based artist and film studies scholar. He holds a Master of Arts in Film Studies from the University of South Florida, a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Art University of Isfahan. Vahid employs straight photography to illuminate environmental and social dynamics in his surroundings, both in his homeland and abroad. His scholarly work centers on archival materials, including film and photography, to explore themes of shifting cultural identities and the marginalization of disenfranchised communities, including his own. He currently lives and works in Dallas, Texas.
