POSITION PURPOSE
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking an equity-minded full-time Art (Photography & Design) Instructor. The home campus will be at the Coon Rapids location, however, teaching responsibilities for this position will be at both the Coon Rapids and Cambridge campuses. This position will include face-to-face and on-line instruction. The Art department values collegiality and collaboration as part of its commitment to teaching and learning and seeks candidates with strong interpersonal skills. Faculty are also expected to engage in discipline, division, and college matters through attendance at division meetings, service on committees, and continued professional development.
Anoka-Ramsey Community College Art Department provides a quality arts education and assists students in achieving their artistic and career goals. In addition to offering an Associate of Arts in Art and an Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree, the Art Department also provides an opportunity to explore a variety of arts media. We contribute to the liberal arts education of all students by offering introductory studio courses in drawing, ceramics, glass, digital media, painting, photography, and sculpture, as well as art history and art appreciation. We prepare individuals to build their portfolios or transfer to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program at a four-year college or university.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Master's degree with a major in fine arts or
• Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in art.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / Preference will be given to applicants who have the following
• Teaching and/or professional experience in Black & White Film Photography (silver gelatin) and Digital Photography, Digital Imaging, and Graphic Design or promise in these areas;
• Ability or interest in teaching Art survey courses – Art History or Introduction to Art;
• Experience teaching Digital Photography & Digital Imaging on-line or promise in this area;
• Strong exhibition record or promise in this area;
• Engagement in the current visual arts culture;
• A philosophy of teaching that successfully integrates process-based teaching, student-centered learning techniques, and a positive, growth mindset;
• Experience with or a strong interest in utilizing proven strategies to eliminate equity gaps; and
• A proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with students, colleagues, and others.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $48,735-$85,892. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs.
Salary and benefits will be based on the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
