The Art Department in the Fulton School of Liberal Arts at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Photography. This is a ten-month full-time tenure-track position, beginning August 2024.

Area of Specialization: Photographic Arts

Primary Job Duties:
• Teach all levels of analog and digital photography, including studio photography and lighting and darkroom practices.
• Provide leadership for the Photo track, including day-to-day oversight, curriculum development, facility management and supervision of adjunct faculty and student workers.
• Provide academic advising and committee responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography or related field.
• Teaching experience at the college or university level.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Digital imaging and professional level printing.
• Traditional analog photography with a variety of processes.
• Photographic history and contemporary issues.
• Proficiency in relevant technologies including Adobe Suite.
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills as required.
• Leadership, administrative and/or program coordinator experience.
• Experience in assisting students in analogue and digital labs
• The ability to teach creative professional business skills.
• Ability to repair and maintain (analog) equipment.
