Summary: The photography program at Grand Valley State University is looking for a visiting professor to teach digital and analog practices during the 2022 - 23 academic year. This position is potentially renewable for a maximum of 3 years. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates from underrepresented groups, and from candidates who have interest and/or experience in working with diverse student and community populations.

Required Qualifications and Education:
Experience in, demonstrated understanding of, or interest in social justice education and/or initiatives, and/or inclusion, diversity, and/or intercultural training.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, such as the ability to interact with others with respect and empathy.
A Master's degree in photography or equivalent field.
Teaching experience at the college level.
Expertise with darkroom and digital processes including large format, color management and editing with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Preferred Qualifications and Education:

Experience with studio lighting, product photography and portraiture
Knowledge of the history of photography
A strong exhibition record of work
Video Production skills

Responsibilities: Teaching 4 classes a semester, with some advising of students.

College/Department: The Department of Visual and Media Arts consists of Photography, Film and Video, Studio Arts, Art Ed., and Art History.
