The A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts is seeking a qualified full-time faculty member to join our Digital Media department starting on the first day of pre-school, Monday, August 6, 2018 (for the 2018-2019 school year and beyond). Applicants should have a passion for teaching and learning, including the capacity for utilizing highly effective teaching strategies. This position will have a primary focus on PHOTOGRAPHY, including analog photography, digital photography, alternative processes, and studio-based photography inclusive of portrait and product photography. Applicants should have a strong background in studio art, and preferably hold a degree in photography, or a closely related field. While we prefer applicants have versatile interests, the position will have a focus on photography. Applicants should hold a Florida teaching certificate, or be willing and agree to earn one upon being hired.
In addition to maintaining a darkroom, classroom, and photographic equipment, it is our hope that the new teacher will be passionate about growing the program to reflect the needs of our diverse population of students. We are fortunate to have a wonderful group of students attending Dreyfoos who are excited to learn and build a portfolio of work which could earn them places and scholarships at prestigious art and academic colleges. Although our school is renowned for its rigorous academics, the art classes are one of the main reasons why students choose to attend Dreyfoos.
