The Hand Magazine seeks submissions from the most innovative and experimental contemporary artists working in photographic and print media. ANY artist incorporating any type of photography and/ or print techniques, including digital, alternative processes, traditional and experimental printmaking, mixed media, installation, and collage work will be considered.

The Hand Magazine is a printed publication based in Prairie Village, KS (Kansas City).

$15 US, $20 Canada/ Mexico, #25 Outside N. America

Submission fee or subscription, up to 5 images, submission form. See website for details on file specifications and payment options.

Evaluation Criteria

The Hand Magazine is interested in the hand of the artist that manifests itself in the hand-made, object quality of the art work itself, or in the artist's arrangement and direction of the image. We generally do not publish straight documentary work. We typically look for images and processes that are strange, unorthodox, narrative, poetic and weird. Sample pages of past issues are available on the website.
