Bass/DeMeritt "Entwined" art book published and available

"Entwined," is an artist book featuring the work of Pinky/MM Bass and Carolyn DeMeritt. It is based in large part on DeMeritt's thirty-year series of photographs entitled "Infinite Grace: An Extended Portrait of Pinky/MM Bass" and images of Bass's hand-stitched "Interventions" made using DeMeritt's photographs as well as her own. Book designer, Susan Walker, worked with printer, NPN Drukkers, located in Amsterdam.

"entwined" is 8"x7" with Swiss binding and exposed Coptic stitching. It has120 pages and 64 plates with several special features. The book includes 2 essays – one by Dr. Susan Richmond, Associate Professor of Art History at Georgia State University and the other by Douglas Baulos, Associate Professor of Drawing and Book Arts at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Patrick Saleeby, former Assistant Director of the Light Factory, Charlotte, NC.

Elements of this body of work were initially exhibited in January 2019 in Mexico City at La Hydra, then at Whitespace Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia, the Mobile Museum of Art in Mobile, Alabama.

and are currently on display at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina and the Wiregrass Museum of Art, Dothan, Alabama. Purchases can be made on DeMeritt's website, www.carolyndemeritt.com.
