News from member Pato Hebert

Pato Hebert write with the following news:

On June 3rd, I launched the project, "A Test of Language" at Plasencia Elementary School in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Developed with the school over the course of the last three years, the project features the installations, "An Unfolding Assembly" and "A Passing Thought," and along with analog and digital photography and other interventions. The project was sponsored by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's (LACMA) "On-Site: Art Programs with the Community."

On July 12th, "PerpiTube: Repurposing Social Media Spaces" opens at Pitzer Art Gallery in Claremont, CA. Co-curated by myself and Alexandra Juhasz, the show aims to playfully rethink the relationship between art exhibition spaces and online digital sites for presentation. The project purposefully organizes the media of 29 invited participants alongside the video production of daily visitors to the gallery, everyday YouTube users, invited community members, and participants such as yourself.
