As a queer radical artist and educator, I have been intimately connected to examining the complicated contradictions within photography to both empower and colonize people and place. I would like to provide a platform to discuss photography's role in moving us towards a more socially just society and globe. I have been making photographs ever since I turned my high school counselor's bathroom into a darkroom, over 25 years ago. Currently I teach Photography, Video, and Storytelling at Irvington High School in Fremont, CA. I earned my MFA in 2010 from San Jose State University.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
