Ky Smiley is a visual artist from Columbus, Ohio working with photography, video, and installation to interrogate visibility within Black family archives and the afterlives of Black bodies. He is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a BFA in Photography and a minor in African and African American Studies. Smiley's lens-based practice asks urgent questions: Who appears in the Black family photo album? How are we remembered after death?
