This panel discussion brings together four photographers/visual artists whose work is bound by the common themes of identity and representation. These artists have created work in response to their experience of migration, memory of body and mind, trauma, risks, uncertainties and carrying fragments of history and culture from their homelands and to a foreign land. Their work collectively act as resistance toward erasure of memory, identity and cultural existence and work as archive and documentation, reversing the western gaze and taking back control through visuals that represents their unique experience
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
