Lisa Guenther is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Vanderbilt University. She is the author of Solitary Confinement: Social Death and its Afterlives (2013) , as well as academic articles, blog posts, and editorials on prison issues. She is a founding member of R.E.A.C.H. Coalition, an organization for Reciprocal Education And Community Healing based on Tennessee's death row, and Tennessee Students and Educators for Social Justice, an activist group that organizes around issues of capital punishment and mass incarceration.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
