Tamara Reynolds is a documentary photographer whose unflinching eye considers what it means to be human in today's society. In particular, her work focuses on the lives of those who are usually unseen. She has received numerous honors, including a 2024 Puffin Grant for XX, 2021 Guggenheim Fellowship, the 2021 BarTur Photo Award, a 2020 Puffin Grant for The Drake, the 2019 Tennessee Arts Commission Individual Artist Grant and the Santa Fe Center 2018 Project Launch Grant.
Along with her current work in documentary photography, Reynolds also works as a commercial photographer. Along with her photography practice, she is a Lecturer at Vanderbilt University and an adjunct professor at Belmont University.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
