Taught at Pratt Institute and Ramapo College. His NEA grant to photograph gas station environments nationwide was published in four volumes by Steidl. Works in the collections of MoMA, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. He was photography judge for the Fulbright-Hays scholarship program.
