This presentation is a reflection the growth of my recent series, Last Contact. It was started during the pandemic and has evolved. The images are 8x10 contact lumens of local 'found' plants and are exposed over days to months on my front porch in Mississippi. As time progressed the desire for a tackle element drew me towards incorporating the encaustic technique into the imagery. This presentation will take the viewer on the journey I took as I moved from a scanned lumen to a photo encaustic image. The Last Contact Series addresses the concern of climate change and human survival.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
