With this project, I explore the unique history of Shay Lake, Michigan, a secluded community just North of Detroit nestled away from main roads. Through a blend of personal visual narratives, archival materials, and artistic expression, I seek to illuminate the untold stories and cherished memories of an all-black community that defied the norms of its time.
