Ecological devastation and social injustice are intertwined: each produces the other. [Placeholder] is a multifaceted project that works to heal people and land by healing the relationship between them.
Students in the Sacramento State Photography BFA program collaborate with me to investigate our individual and collective relationships to land, and then search for pathways toward repairing those relationships. We use the dynamic process of making art through experiential research, interviews, and photographs to do that. In this presentation, you'll hear from current students and alumni alongside me.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
