Part historical lecture, personal diary, and artist talk, The Future is Here: America's New Religions will focus on Dolezal's long-term body-of-work Part of Fortune and Part of Spirit. Set in California and Nevada, this work combines documentary and performative photographs that sit in close dialogue with a historical archive, resurrecting and re-contextualizing the cultural and political influence of popular new religious movements throughout American history to the present day.
