This presentation explores the intersection of photography, darkroom experimentation, and social practice, focusing on community-driven environmental interventions.
The body of work imagines landscapes and humans together, along a more-than-human continuum to formulate solutions for an uncertain ecological future. Fighting against the problematic illusions of human separateness and nature as a resource, the work centers on collaborative community engagement methods through ethnographic research. The presentation proposes a new strategy for the contemporary image: A "Process-rooted photographic practice supplemented with on-field community collaboration methods", that does not limit itself to the documentary or fine-art realms but goes beyond to glimpse solutions for an uncertain ecological and social future.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
