This talk provides a detailed look into the collaborative practice of Everything Is Collective, a group that studies the way collective entities, like corporations and governments, use photography to control narratives and create realities. This talk is centered around their recent UMOCA exhibition, Expected Image, where the group presented critical and speculative works that used the Bureau of Land Management's esoteric "Visual Resource Management" system as a central node. The project explores the role images play in colonizing nature, looks for speculative approaches to landscape art through counter-mapping, and encourages a critical understanding of institutional aesthetics.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
