This presentation features renowned photographers B. Proud and Mariette Pathy Allen, whose work has significantly contributed to the visibility and understanding of queer, transgender, and gender-nonconforming communities. Through their photographs, they explore the complexities of sexual and gender identities in the context of human relationships. Joining them is Jesse Egner, a queer artist whose playful and humorous portraits explore queerness through collaboration. Together, they will discuss their artistic processes, previous and ongoing challenges and triumphs, the impact of their work on public perception, and provide insights into how photography can be a tool for empowerment, social change, and fostering empathy.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
