South Asia Panel: "Pathshala / Festival of Ideas / Truth to Power"

Khandaker Tanvir Murad (Dhaka, Bangladesh) is Head of the Photography Department at Pathshala. In 2018, under his supervision, Pathshala introduced the Bachelor of Social Science in Photography by securing affiliation with the University of Dhaka. He is one of the governing body members of the affiliated programs. Murad has worked to coordinate scholarly and artistic exchange in South Asia, and has had a long relationship with photo.circle, Nepal. In 2019, he attained the Charles Wallace Professional Visits Programme, UK, and worked there on the development and implementation of a photography academic curriculum.

Murad began his career at Drik Picture Library, working with Dr. Shahidul Alam. He was the coordinator of Drik Gallery and Exhibition, specializing in exhibition design and execution. Murad completed his ToT in photography, teaching under World Press Photo, in Amsterdam, 2012.
