Doug Rickard was born in 1968 in San Jose, California. He was educated at University of San Diego, California with an emphasis on US History and Sociology. His body of work A New American Picture has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions including the New Photography 2011 exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He is the publisher of American Suburb X (www.americansuburbx.com) and These Americans (www.theseamericans.com) and he is represented by Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco and Yossi Milo Gallery in New York.
