Nancy Floyd Awarded APG/High Museum Purchase Award

Atlanta Photography Group is pleased to announce Brett Abbott, Curator of Photography and Head of Collections of the High Museum of Art, selected Atlanta-based artist Nancy Floyd as the 2016 recipient of the $2,500.00 APG/High Museum Purchase Award. Three of Floyd’s prints from her project, Weathering Time, were exhibited in APG’s “Portfolio 2016” exhibition juried by Lisa Sutcliffe, Curator of Photography and Media Arts at the Milwaukee Art Museum from a national call for entries. From the seven photographers shown in the exhibition, Abbott selected Floyd’s photographs for the museum’s permanent collection.

Each year, in conjunction with its Portfolio Exhibition, APG offers a purchase award to fund potential acquisition of photographs for the High Museum, the leading art museum in the Southeastern United States.
