Jess T. Dugan Named a 2015 White House LGBT Artists Champion of Change

SPE member Jess T. Dugan has been chosen as a 2015 White House LGBT Artists Champion of Change. At 1:00 pm EST on November 23, 2015, Jess will speak about her work, particularly her ongoing series To Survive on this Shore: Photographs and Interviews with Transgender and Gender-Variant Older Adults, alongside eight other artists and award recipients. The event will be streamed live at whitehouse.gov/live.

To Survive on this Shore was recently featured on Slate's photography blog, Behold, in "The History of the Trans Community as Told by Its Aging Members." It was also featured in Alive Magazine's recent Do Good Issue in the article "Jess T. Dugan and Vanessa Fabbre Share An Enlightening Perspective On Trans Community."
