Garin Horner Receives Two Teaching Awards

Midwest SPE member Garin Horner recently received The United Methodist Award for Exemplary Teaching and The Adrian College Creative Activity, Research and Scholarship Award for his research on effective teaching methods and the implementation of innovative teaching strategies in his photography courses. This is the first time both awards have been given to the same professor in Adrian College's 156-year history.

Much of Horner's research will be published in his new book, The Photography Teacher's Handbook: Practical Methods for Engaging Students in the Flipped Classroom. The book is due out in January of 2016 and will be published by Focal Press.
