Nate Larson wins the Public Art Commission from Atlanta Celebrates Photography
We are excited to share that SPE Member Nate Larson and Marni Shindelman won the Public Art Commission from Atlanta Celebrates Photography.
Working with sponsorship from CBS Outdoors, Nate Larson and Marni Shindelman secured nine digital billboard sites around the Atlanta metro area. They looked at tweets coming from a half mile radius of the billboards and the tweet text and their photographs were in rotation on the billboards for the month of October. They also produced two 15-second videos for the MARTA public trains, which aired on video screens for the same month. Working in this way was all new to them and the various forms of the project were seen by more than a million viewers in Atlanta.
Through ACP, Marni and Nate were also invited to install a six-channel video on the exterior windows of the Digital Arts Entertainment Lab (DAEL) at Georgia State University. Selections of the videos are on their website with full installation documentation to follow shortly.
