Maria Levitsky's work in group show at Good Children Gallery, New Orleans

Good Children gallery is pleased to present Something Here from Somewhere Else, a group exhibition curated by Sesthasak Boonchai and Srdjan Loncar. The exhibition will be on view July 14 through August 5 2012 with an opening on Saturday July 14th and a gallery walk through on Sunday August 5th at 4pm. The exhibition features work by Eric Graham (paintings), Stephen Hilger (photography), Maria Levitsky (photographic constructs), Deborah Luster (tondos) and Katherine Newbegin (video).

As Gaston Bachelard wrote: " (the) coexistence of things in a space to which we add consciousness of our own existence, is a very concrete thing." Something Here from Somewhere Else features work that seeks to draw forth phenomenological relationships between human interactions and its affect on the experience of space. Similarly, the work explores how the character of a place is tweaked by our interventions as well as how the memories that are held in a place can make us vulnerable to the intimacies of our inner selves.

The exhibition opens Saturday July 14th at the Good Children Gallery, 4037 St. Claude Ave. New Orleans, LA
