Jimmy Fike's Photographic Art Work on View

During February 2012 selections from J.W. Fike's Photographic Survey of the Wild Edible Botanicals of the North American Continent will be on view at 515 Arts in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Fike has devised a two-part system for this ongoing photographic series that elegantly illustrates and accurately catalogues wild edible plants. The images reference early botanical studies from the dawn of photography while embracing contemporary modes of digital imaging. "These edible plants grow all around us, in yards, alleys, ditches, and empty lots. Each testifies to our symbiotic evolution with all of life, and function as both metaphor and proof of our intimate tether to the natural world", says Fike.

The exhibition opens on Friday, February 3rd 6-10 p.m.
