about
SPE's Executive Director from 2007 to 2015, Virginia's career choices reflect her passion for art and management. She worked in a number of Cleveland area galleries and then went on be an award-winning teacher of photography and art at Hawken School and has been involved with student advocacy in educational contexts ever since. Virginia has been making and exhibiting photographs since the early 1980s after discovering her passion for photography while shooting portfolio slides of her own painting along with sculptural work of jewelry, glass and metal artists. She tends to work in series and her work often channels her training as a painter. Virginia has been on the Advisory Board for the Young Photographers Alliance, the Academy of the World Photography Organization and served as a board member, including serving as board president of Cleveland Museum of Art's affiliate group, The Friends of Photography (FoP). She is also a member of the gallery committee of the Valley Art Center in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Visit her website: vmorrisonphotos.com
